アンティーク・クロノグラフの魅力を四つのテーマから掘り下げます
　業界唯一のアンティークウオッチ専門誌として2012年に創刊した『LowBEAT（ロービート）』。年2回（4・10月）のペースで刊行してきた同誌も、22年4月発売号をもって10周年を迎えました。熱心なアンティーク時計愛好家を中心にご好評いただきました同誌のバックナンバーは、すでに絶版（電子版は取り扱いあり）となった号が半分以上。ありがたいことに、再版を望む多くの声もいただいています。

　同誌では過去、特集として様々なテーマを取り上げていますが、そのなかでも特に人気を博したのが手巻きクロノグラフを取り上げた“クロノグラフ大全”（5〜7号に掲載）です。
　しかし、5〜7号に関しても現在すでに絶版となっており、特に再版を望む声が多く寄せられたことから、後の17号で特集を組んだ“自動巻きクロノグラフ”を加えて1冊にまとめたスペシャルBOOKを制作しました。

　この【スペシャルBOOK】は、大きく四つの章で構成されます。
　歴史的機構であるクロノグラフの歴史と進化の系譜を辿る第1章。手巻きクロノグラフのメカニズムをわかりやすく解説した第2章。1969年に開発された“自動巻きクロノグラフ”にフォーカスした第3章。そして第4章ではスペシャルBOOKならではの特別コンテンツとして、クロノグラフモデルの大きな魅力となっている“デザイン”にフォーカスした「クロノグラフ・デザインアーカイブ」を収録しています。

　掲載している時計はすべてアンティークのみとなりますが、その進化の歴史はもちろん、メカニズムの一部など現代のモデルに受け継がれているものは多くあり、“現行派”という時計ユーザーの方もお楽しめいただける内容となっています。クロノグラフ好きには堪らない永久保存版となること間違いなしです。

Produced a special book to commemorate the 10th anniversary of LowBEAT
We are a publisher specializing in watches. “LowBEAT” was launched in 2012 as the only antique watch magazine in Japan. Published twice a year (April and October), it celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2022. More than half of the back numbers of the magazine, which was well-received mainly by antique watch lovers are already out of print (E-book versions are available). Thankfully, we received many resale requests.
So I created a special book that summarizes the popular “chronograph encyclopedia”.
This book consists of four main chapters. Chapter 1 traces the history and evolution of the chronograph, which is a historical mechanism. Chapter 2 explains the mechanism of the hand-wound chronograph in an easy-to-understand. Chapter 3 focuses on the “self-winding chronograph” developed in 1969. And Chapter 4 focuses on design as a special content of this book. There is no doubt that this book will be an important permanent storage version for mechanical chronograph watch lovers.
